These are paintings on 18th Century “Toile de Jouy” fabric which depict French pastoral images. The idylic scenes have been defaced to demonstrate that everything is not rosy in the garden and that the world is on fire.
The mediums which I utilize play with a visual language of order and chaos. I explore the antithesis of structure and disorder by employing the use of repetitive pattern alongside abstracted painting.
